The Rodgers Forge Community Association (RFCA) Board of Governors was established in 1960, when the original developer of the neighborhood, The Keelty Co. transferred its rights and covenant authority to the Rodgers Forge Community, Inc. (RFC, Inc. is the legal name of the community association, but RFCA is the commonly used term today.

Mission Statement

It is the mission of the Rodgers Forge Community Association to maintain, enhance and protect the high standards of the Rodgers Forge neighborhood, to protect the excellent quality of life in our neighborhood, and to establish the channels of communication and opportunities for the residents of Rodgers Forge to participate in the growth of the community.

 

While membership in RFCA is not mandatory, it is strongly encouraged as a civic duty and responsibility. The money from annual dues goes to fund the Association’s operating expenses and events like the annual picnic and other community activities that enhance all residents’ quality of life. Currently, 50%, or approximately 900 Rodgers Forge households are RFCA members, which is substantially below our goal of 75% household membership.

The Board meets monthly to discuss issues and take action as necessary. All Rodgers Forge residents are welcome to attend. Meetings take place at the Rodgers Forge Elementary School Activity Room at 7 pm on the second Wednesday of each month unless otherwise noted. Please check the newsletter for any changes to the location of the monthly meetings.

Board of Governors Election and Candidate Information

The RFCA Board of Governors is elected annually by its membership during an annual election each September. Any current member of RFCA can vote in the election, but there is only one vote per household. Board members serve two year terms. Roughly half of the board member terms expire each year. The annual election takes place during the September Board meeting. In order to be eligible for Board membership, the following criteria must be met:

  • Reside in the geographic area of Rodgers Forge
  • Be 21 years of age or older and live in a household for which the dues are current and paid

New candidates for a Board Member position must submit a statement of interest and willingness to serve a two year term and brief bio by July 14th (no exceptions). This should include name, address, phone number, and email address and be sent to board@rodgersforge.org with the title “Attention: nominating committee.”
