Update on fencing-materials meeting

The RFCA board held a virtual meeting tonight to vote on new fencing materials. The community was invited to attend and about five residents did so (as per the bylaws, only RFCA board members were able to vote on the measures). Additionally, 17 residents wrote in to share their opinions, and those messages were shared with the full board. We appreciate everyone’s feedback.

Here is the outcome:

  1. Black aluminum 4' fencing: Postponed the vote so the Architecture Committee can investigate specific materials and overall durability, etc. The committee will then report back to the RFCA, within 30 days, to share their findings and recommendations.

  2. Chain link: No new chain link fences will be approved, but someone who already has a chain link fence will be allowed to replace it with a new chain link fence. The Architecture Committee will develop further guidelines on color.

  3. Split rail: Split rail will not be allowed throughout the community, but the Architecture Committee may vote to allow it in special situations on a case-by-case basis.
