Halloween in the Forge is Here!

Attention All Ghosts, Goblins, and Witches of The Forge! We are excited to announce that the Halloween Contests are back by popular demand! This year we will be holding three contests to celebrate our favorite spooky holiday. Contests are open to participants of all ages.

House Decorating Competition

Pull out your cobwebs, ghostly lights, fog machines, and everything else you have! Members of the RFCA board will be making their way through the neighborhood from Oct. 27-29 looking for the best-decorated houses we can find.  Winners will be announced on Oct. 30, in preparation for the big day on the 31st.  Want us to come and check out your house? Email board@rodgersforge.org with your address and we will be sure to make a visit. There will be two categories this year:

  • Best Overall

  • Most Haunted (spookiest/scariest)

Costume Contest
Just like last year, we will be hosting a virtual Costume Contest so everyone can strut their stuff and show off their phenomenal costumes. There will be two categories:

  • Best DIY Costume (homemade)

  • Best Group/Family Costume (2+ people)

Please email a picture of you in your costume to board@rodgersforge.org with the subject line “Costume Contest 2021” to participate.  Please include your address (along with names and ages if you would like this to be shared).  Entries must be received no later than Oct. 31. Winners will be announced on our social media no later than Nov. 3.  They will also be honored in our next community meeting and in the next community newsletter.

Pumpkin Carvings

What’s Halloween without Jack-O-Lanterns?  Nothing! So grab your tools and a pumpkin and then share your fantastic artwork with the whole neighborhood.  We will have three carving categories, to celebrate as many artists as possible:

  • Spookiest

  • Silliest/Most Creative

  • Most Artistic

Email a picture of your carving to board@rodgersforge.org with the subject line “Carving Contest 2021” to participate.  Please include your address (and Name and age of the artist if you would like this to be shared).  Entries must be received no later than Oct. 31. Winners will be announced on our social media no later than Nov. 3.  They will also be honored in our next community meeting and in the next community newsletter.

We also encourage you to send us pictures of your Halloween celebrations (pumpkin carving, house decorating, scary movie night…) so we can share all of the fun happenings around the Forge.   Please email any photos to board@rodgersforge.org.

***Addresses will not be shared publicly for the costume or carving contests (they are for prize delivery), but photos, names, and ages may be shared unless you request for them to not be posted.  Addresses will be shared for the decoration contest.***
