RFCA Annual Meeting Recap

In spite of Covid restrictions and Zoom meetings, the RFCA had a very busy year! Listed below is a summary of some RFCA activities for FY 2020-2021. We are anticipating a great 2021-2022!

Advocating for Rodgers Forge Community:

  • Meet monthly with Towson Communities Alliance (TCA) 

  • Meet monthly with Towson University – University Relations Committee

  • Provided community input for planning the new Towson Circulator

  • Supported East Towson Community opposition to Red Maple Project

  • Opposed Balt. Co. School consultant’s recommendation for renovation vs. replacement of THS

  • Monitoring development plans for vacant Mercy Villa property on Bellona Ave.


Community Activities:

  • Halloween and Christmas Decorating Contests

  • Santa and Easter Bunny Neighborhood Visits

  • Dumpster Day and Community Clean-up

  • Summer Picnic at DMS with a food truck, ice cream, neighborhood scavenger hunt

  • Picnic Informational Tent for Rodgers Forge Neighbors for Equity Group

  • Support for Little Library Project for our partner neighborhood 

  • Rodgers Forge Sign column restoration and enhancement donated by Fick Bros.

  • Subsidized purchase and planting of trees in Rodgers Forge by Blue Water Baltimore  

Community Outreach and Communication:

  • Twelve monthly meetings, six newsletters, over seventy blog posts, annual directory published

Future Ideas and Projects:

  • Repair/replace non-functional lighting of the Rodgers Forge sign

  • Use Dumbarton House porch facilities to support warm weather lawn music by local musicians

  • Post-Covid Adult-focused Event (Chili Cookoff, Football Viewing, Etc.) at the Tot Lot
