Plant a tree in Rodgers Forge!

family.jpg

The RFCA Green Committee is once again offering discounted trees to Rodgers Forge residents. The large shade trees that line our streets help make this neighborhood so beautiful and vibrant — but trees provide many more benefits than beauty, including:

• Increasing property values

• Absorbing air pollution

• Reducing heating and cooling costs in houses

• Providing habitat for birds and animals

• Helping to slow traffic and reduce crime

Through the committee’s work with Blue Water Baltimore and with funds from RFCA memberships, these trees are available for the small cost of $40 each — and that includes having it planted by experts. This is a great value for Rodgers Forge residents!

Here are the types of trees you can choose from (depending on availability at the time of selection):

  • American Elm

  • American Linden

  • American Persimmon

  • American Sycamore

  • Arborvitae

  • Bald Cypress

  • Black Gum

  • Bur Oak

  • Chestnut Oak

  • Eastern Red Cedar

  • Hackberry

  • London Planetree

  • Northern Red Oak

  • River Birch

  • Sassafras

  • Swamp White Oak

  • Tulip Poplar

  • White Pine

  • Willow Oak

We have funds for only 20 trees, so please contact one of the members of the Green Committee ASAP if you are interested in learning more about the program:
