RFCA Candidate Profiles

Candidates for 2021-2022 (term to expire in 2023)

The RFCA will hold its annual meeting in October and elect a new slate of candidates for a two-year term. Below is a short introduction to those who are running so far (the nomination deadline was September 15, after the newsletter went to print, so ultimately we may have more candidates). The full list will be posted at rodgersforge.org closer to the annual meeting.

We are expecting to have fewer nominees than seats available, therefore the election will likely be by acclamation. Nonetheless, we hope you will come to the annual meeting to “acclaim” these candidates. Some are running for a second term and some are new. We are grateful to all who have stepped forward to contribute to our community through service on the board!

Cathy Brennan, her wife Katie, her two children, and her mother all live in Rodgers Forge on Murdock Road.  She loves having her whole family close together, walking her adorable dogs around the neighborhood, and playing Pokemon Go with her family and neighbors. Cathy's favorite holiday is Halloween, and each year she spends the entire day decorating her house and transforming her yard into the spookiest spot in the neighborhood. In 2020, Cathy added a Little Free Library, #100425, to her front yard and is grateful to the many neighbors who have participated in sharing books they love. She is eager to join the RFCA board and continue spreading positivity and fun throughout the neighborhood.

Mike Celmer and his wife Alex have lived in Rodgers Forge since May of 2020. They recently purchased their home on Rodgers Ct. after living on Stevenson Lane. They enjoy walking around the neighborhood with their golden doodle Olly, whose favorite part is stopping at Starbucks for his weekly puppacino. Mike has worked in real estate for the past four years and has been a part of sales, leasing, commercial, and residential teams. He has degrees in business administration and communication and is excited to work with the board to help better our community together.

Sarah and Howard’s older son is a junior at The Boys Latin School of Maryland and their younger son is a fourth-grader at The Harbour School. Sarah is a middle school special educator with a focus in mathematics working for Baltimore County Public Schools. Sarah has a passion for community outreach and is an advocate for social justice and change. She felt that joining the Rodgers Forge board would be a great avenue to bring these passions together.

Greg FitzGerald and his wife, Molly, grew up locally and moved to Rodgers Forge on Regester Ave in 2018. Greg works nearby at Notre Dame of Maryland University focusing on government and community affairs and has a Masters in Public Policy from UMBC. He is a Chemical Engineer with a Master's degree in Environmental Sciences and works for Danfoss as a Quality Manager in the HVAC industry.  He likes hiking, running, and walking in Rodgers Forge, admiring neighbors’ gardens as there is always a new garden, plant, or tree to discover! He is passionate about the environment, and looks forward to joining the board to contribute to our community and try to make our neighborhood more green and sustainable!

Joe Hinz and his wife moved to Rodgers Forge eight years ago and were subsequently joined by their daughter and their rescue dog, Boomer. Joe loves the neighborhood’s Halloween and Christmas decorations. He is an Account Executive at an IT staff augmentation firm in Hunt Valley. He recently joined the board to fill a vacancy and looks forward to continuing to get to know his neighbors and be involved in the community.

Sam is a Maryland native and has lived in the Towson area since graduating from Towson University and Johns Hopkins where he completed his graduate degree. When Sam is not on his iPhone, he can be found starting home improvement projects - and the projects abound on the townhouse that he and his wife purchased sight unseen during Covid! Never one to shy away from community involvement Sam and his wife have been block captains in our previous neighborhoods and he is excited to participate in the Rodgers Forge Community.

jamie.jpeg

Jamie Norwood and his husband, their constantly vigilant dog Goofy, and somewhat less vigilant cat Miss Adele, are proud to call Rodgers Forge their home. Living in the neighborhood and being able to enjoy the landscape, history, and community of the neighborhood has been a treasure to enjoy over the past few years and particularly during the pandemic. As an architect, living in Rodgers Forge, and serving on the RFCA for the past two years has given Jamie a wonderful opportunity to give back to the community and contribute to the longstanding legacy.

Ty.jpg

Ty Wilkerson, their wife Sharday McGregor-Wilkerson, and their son moved to Rodgers Forge in January of 2021 from Parkville. They live on Old Trail Rd, closer to Stevenson. Ty is a Data Analyst currently working for a nonprofit that provides after-school programs for underserved communities. Ty’s preferred pronouns are they/them. Ty is dedicated to creating equity and inclusion in their community and is the co-leader of the Rodgers Forge Neighbors for Equity and Pride Rodgers Forge groups. It is their hope to bring these same ideals to the board and to the larger community.
